Early History
We began manufacturing dental products in the early 1900s, when modern dentistry was still in its infancy. At the time, we were just one of several small companies making instruments and supplies for the dental profession. Over the next half century, through focus and dedication to quality manufacturing, the company garnered an excellent reputation for making reliable instruments.

Dentist Approved
Pediatric dentist Dr. Marilyn Sandor, DDS, MS, PA, was instrumental in helping develop the Zooby product line. She said Zooby characters, such as those depicted on Zooby disposable prophy angles, can open opportunities to build a dialogue with patients.
“It is especially helpful to show them the characters and how they can choose Francesca the Flamingo with her pretty eyelashes to sparkle his or her teeth. Or sometimes I’ll comment that Chase the Cheetah was a good choice because he cleans teeth very quickly,” Sandor said. “There are a million comments you can build around the Zooby characters. All you need is a sprinkle of imagination and the sky is the limit.”
Modern History
In the mid-century, Young began to focus on developing preventive dentistry products, chiefly the prophy polishing angle, which has been a primary focus for us ever since. Today, we’re proud to be one of the world’s largest manufacturers of disposable prophy angles and preventive dental products.
